Colour surrounds us and can affect our moods, emotions and behaviour. Colour psychology helps us to understand the relationship between colour and our personalities and how to achieve the effects that we want.

The study of the effects of colour is a relatively new ‘science’. In nature colour has meaning; it has been found that the patterns of colour that occur within nature’s seasons are linked to types of personality who also share certain psychological and physical characteristics and responses to colour. Once we understand our true ‘colour personality’ we can better understand ourselves and feel more confident about using colour.

I pride myself in giving more than many other image consultants - the introduction of a personal colour psychology analysis into an image consultation adds a new dimension and depth to ‘traditional’ colour analysis. The consultation is also supplemented by eye analysis, another unique approach. A colour psychology consultation with Science of Style is bespoke to the individual. I will explore your likes and dislikes, physical characteristics and personality traits to identify your colour personality. You will learn about yourself and discover which colours work best for you in different circumstances. At the end of the process, you will receive a bespoke colour fan designed to help support you in different areas of your life, be it for work, to increase confidence, to make an impact at a special event or to relax you. No-one else will have a fan the same as yours because we are all different!

Why not also consider a make up consultation to get advice on colour and application techniques?

And now the Science Bit……

Colour is a characteristic of light, an energy made up of different wavelengths and frequencies. Colour is detected by an individual and interpreted by the brain. Colour is also a language - by understanding what colours mean and the best colours which harmonise with our physical characteristics, we can influence the messages we send out and help others to see us as we are and not just as what we wear.
